Therapy
Good therapy creates space for the conversations you’ve never been able to have — including the ones about sex.
I work with individuals and intimate partners, including those in consensually nonmonogamous relationships, on a range of concerns. My approach draws on Relational-Cultural theory — an understanding that oppressive systems like patriarchy and white supremacy shape how connected or disconnected we feel from ourselves, our partners, and the world. That context is always part of the conversation.
How therapy works
Therapy with me typically unfolds in three ways. First, we talk — exploring your history, values, and relationships to build self-awareness and surface things that may have been just outside your reach. Second, we work on communication — learning to talk about hard things, including sex, with more confidence and clarity. And third, I’ll often suggest between-session practices — specific exercises related to sexual functioning, intimacy, or connection that support what we’re working on together.
Areas of focus
Desire discrepancy
Sexual dysfunction, including erectile disorder and difficulty with orgasm
Religious trauma
Infertility and reproductive concerns
Relationship and intimacy concerns
Consensually nonmonogamous partnerships
A note on sex therapy
Sex therapy is talk therapy — nothing more, nothing less. Sessions never involve physical contact or sexual activity of any kind. What they do involve is open, judgment-free conversation about some of the most intimate aspects of your life. Many people find that finally having a space to talk honestly about sex is itself transformative.
